Roadchef Wins Incentive Award

Incentive award won by Roadchef

Leading motorway service area operator, Roadchef, has won the award for Best Health & Wellbeing Programme at the Incentive Awards.

Having put investment into its health and wellbeing programme to support its employees’ physical and mental health, the award recognises the impact that the company’s Wellbeing Strategy has had on its teams during the pandemic.

The awards that took place in London on 24th November aim to shine a light on the very best employee programmes, showcasing great people and exceptional execution, creativity and innovation. The judging panel was made up of industry experts and leaders from across the globe, ensuring that only the best of the best secure top prizes.

Roadchef’s coveted win was based around several new initiatives that the company has implemented to improve the wellbeing of its employees. These included financial support to help employees manage their finances, such as a new wage stream solution allowing employees to draw down on a percentage of their earned wages ahead of pay day, and the introduction of hardship loads to support the most financially vulnerable employees.

Wellbeing booklets with a wealth of information and solutions were also provided to all employees, including details of local support organisations. A new suite of e-learning training sessions were made available to all, including modules on Wellbeing, Mental Health, Stress, Depression, Anxiety and Anxiety Disorders. Additionally, mental health first aid training has been offered to over 30 members of staff.

Furthermore, Roadchef’s partnership with the Hidden Disabilities organisation to deliver training on its Sunflower Scheme was introduced to give employees the confidence to approach customers who are wearing the Sunflower emblem that indicates they may need a little extra help.

Finally, the Roadchef Hapi Benefits scheme gives all employees access to a range of services and support in all areas of mental, physical, social and financial wellbeing, anytime, anywhere.

Laura Bunn, HR Director at Roadchef commented: “We’re extremely grateful to have won the Best Health and Wellbeing Programme award at the Incentive Awards, based on the time and resources invested in our employee’s mental and physical health. Prioritising wellbeing has always been front and centre of our people strategy, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic, so we’re delighted to be recognised and hope all employees and future employees feel confident that Roadchef will look after their health, both physical and mental.”
